Mixed reviews on this. A lot of the things that are wrong, could easily be fixed by management. In regards to the food, its delicious! I have always been a fan of the biscuits at this place. They tend to be a little craveable, and probably not great for the waistline. Their chicken is good. I have tried the spicy, mild, tenders and the garlic chicken that was a LTO. All have been hot and fresh. While I like the spice, I think the mild is the best way to go through IMO. The mashed potatoes are delicious and so are the fries. As for the other sides, they are a bit generic. In terms of the controlable aspects, this place is well known for not being very fast despite being a "fast food". It always seems that they are in need of some serious training and they could have the service times in optimal results. Now lets talk about the parking lot. There are pot holes that make me feel like I am visiting the grand canyon while getting some chicken and biscuits. I am amazed that since they have opened they have not made any fixes on these giant potholes.

My sister introduced me to the delicious, juicy chicken at a Popeye's location in Des Moines. I was so excited when I discovered locations in the Twin Cities. All Popeye's locations in the Twin Cities have bad customer service - Eden Prairie, Brooklyn Park, Richfield. I have been to several locations multiple times, always hopeful for a better experience only to be disappointed again. The service is usually slow... I see the crew goofing around. They are almost always out of something. Out of green beans? Really? During the winter the drive-thru was dangerously patched with snow and ice. It must just be a Minnesota thing because the Popeye's I've been to in other states are not like this. Last week was the absolute last straw. There was one car ahead of me in the drive-thru. When I pulled up to the speaker I had to wait because apparently they can't handle more than one order at a time. Then I saw a crew member dancing around in the drive-thru window. Finally they take my order - all I want is a chicken sandwich. And they "ain't got no bread." What? "It's frozen." She didn't even try to suggest an alternative. It seemed obvious that she did not want to help anyone. This was probably around 8pm so maybe they did sell an unusually high number of sandwiches that day, but their terrible service is pretty consistent. It is a shame that the outstanding service at Chick-fil-a is the exception rather than the rule around here. For that they win my business every time.

I've been here a couple of times, hoping that it might get better, but after a 3rd trip won't be coming back. The food: It's mediocre. Definitely not outstanding, but not down right awful either. Mashed potatoes are good on a cold day, but I've had better fried chicken many times before. The menu is limited on the main dishes, but several sides are available. You only get one side with your meal, I feel having a second side may make the meal better with a bit more variety. The service: Yikes. Even for the fast food industry, the service here is bad. I've been here 3 times: once shortly after they opened, another time a few months after that, and the third time a few days ago. On all these visits there were multiple concerns with the service. Here is a sampling of what I've experienced: waiting to have my order taken, even without anyone in line, things like napkins/forks/condiments etc. not being accessible to guests, the pop machine (they have a coke freestyle, the one with over 100 types) being out of over half the types of pop, including regular Coke, running out of biscuits, eating most of my meal before more biscuits are made, and then have it placed directly on my tray without a word from the employee. Several tables have been dirty on my visits there, and the employees appear bored and uninterested in being there. I've given this place three chances, but they've struck out. From now on, if I want chicken, I'll be heading to the grocery store deli.

Nice staff but super, super, super slow. You better have extra time on your hands when you eat here! Food is pretty awesome though still

Service is extremely slow. Staff is not familiar with menu at all. Very pricey for what is advertised as fast food. We have tried it twice and wont return. Fruit punch was kind of good.

ok , what is really happening at popeyes in coon rapids, mn? they don't ever have what i am trying to order... always out of products like sauces, beans, like all the side stuff... the management (district manager) obviously hasn't trained their employees correctly and that is a really. big deal when i go to a fast food restaurant. so, mr. district managers, you should properly train all employees before leaving any of the stores!...., and i do mean on a daily basis so the store and i mean all stores can be run smoothly! please work as hard as some of your employees and maybe things can run correctly... i didn't want to click any stars, but this forum wouldn't let me finish so that is why only one!

Went there today for the first time... took 20 mins to get cold fries and cold chicken with flavor so mild I can make much better myself at home... I will never go back again. This place was much hyped as amazing but rates barely above the heat lamp chicken at KFC.

We've given this place three chances now, and won't be coming back. The first time was shortly after they opened, and we got home and realized they forgot the popcorn chicken. (Rookie mistake, I know, not to check before leaving, but I was in a car full of hyped up nieces and nephews and needed to get out of there asap). Second time, got inattentive service from the snobby girls working there, but okay, whatever. Third time, my cute old Vietnamese parents went to pick up the food and they were roundly ignored by the girls, who were too busy flirting with the guys hanging out in there. I think they thought they could get away with it since my parents speak with accented English! Extremely rude. The manager of the place needs to step it up and supervise employees who actually care about customer service and getting the orders right the first time.

Ordered $10.00 worth of food and the Manager wants to charge me for an extra sauce to dip my chicken tenders in. He literally went off on a 3 minute tangent on how every one else is charging him more for items and how he recommended this policy. I told him his policy is not very customer friendly. If you want to charge for something put on your price board. I then asked him if he charges for straws, salt and pepper? He answered No. I explained I can take all of his salt pepper and straws and it would cost a lot more then a packet of sauce. His reply was - Do what you gotta do. I turned around - had enough of him. Ate my food Chicken was good spicy strips. Fries were good but a minimal amount. Red beans and rice seemed watered down literally fluid at the bottom when I was done. Used to be a customer previous to this twice a week. A little customer service goes a long way. If you're going to complain for 3 minutes at least give the customer a sauce saying you'll make an exception. Think before you act Eden Prairie Popeyes Management or you'll end up like the business there before you - out of business!

Out of things . No mac and cheese. No caps for their jugs. Mediocre chicken. Not much to recommend here.

Great food! Rice n beans were phenomenal, the spicy tenders were amazing and the biscuits didn't even need butter they were so tasty. Staff was friendly the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is they were a bit pricey for 'semi fast food' :)

I've read some horrible reviews of this place but I have to say, I'm quite a fan. I go during lunch hour on the weekdays and have only gone through the drive thru. I have always been treated very well by the employees and the food has always been good. Today was the first time I ever had a mistake - I wanted mashed potatoes and got fries instead. The fries were luke warm so I'm not a fan. However, the chicken strips are great. Like REALLY great. LOVE THEM. The mashed potatoes and gravy are fantastic...love the gravy sooo much! And the biscuits...sooo yummy! Sorry to all the folks who have had a bad experience, but I have to say I have never had one.

I was excited and visited this restaurant a week after it opened. The long wait for it to open was well worth it. Fast, courteous service, fresh food, definitely worthy of the Louisiana original. Too bad it only lasted for two or three weeks. Within a month, the service and food quality dropped; dramatically. Long wait times, stale, bland food, inaccurate orders, unprofessional staff, even charging different prices for orders from week to week. Who would have imagined that this could have happened in a matter of a few weeks. My guess is that for the opening month, the new owners staffed the store with seasoned personnel to get things going and to iron out the wrinkles. Well, it definitely worked while they were there. The service was premium. Now that everything has changed, I'm contemplating only visiting original Minnesota restaurant in South Minneapolis. I don't frequent that area so I guess I won't be a regular customer of Popeye's any longer. I was very excited when I first heard that Popeye's was replacing KFC. Now I'm just disappointed.

We walked in and a employee behind the counter was being fed Popeyes food by a girl! What kind of establishment let's employees eat while working at the counter! This is our 2nd time here! Both times they have been out of spicy chicken and it is poorly run!

I hope this review can be amended in the future but I have to concur with the other patrons. It sux. But it is new so I'm hoping that accounts for how unacceptable it is right now. The customer service is terrible and the food, hmm, well, it's hard to say if the food is bad or good because it's cold when you get it. Again, alluding to the customer service issue.Getting fried chicken from Cub or Rainbow is more advisable. And where is the fried okra? They need to serve fried okra.

One word... Gross!!! Chicken is nasty, potato gravy gross and the coke didn't even taste like coke! If your stuck going here - the biscuit might be the only thing worth eating!

Went there at 9:38 pm (they close at 11:00). Lights were on, but they locked us out. Decided we'd go to the drive through instead, until we saw two employees quickly put 2 cones in the drive through to block it. Then they hopped in a car with two other employees, closing a full hour and twenty minutes early.

Visited the Eden Prairie location at 7pm tonight and had several people in line before us. The guy taking the orders was yelling back and forth with another female co-worker, which I think was the supervisor. He took our order, we sat down and I heard them start yelling at each other again loudly as orders were getting all mixed up and now she needed everybody's receipts in order to fill orders as they had no clue what orders were needed. In the mean time the guy that took our order had enough of the yelling that he walked off the job and we ended up waiting for 15 mins to get our FAST food. I was seriously so embarrassed by the actions of these workers and thought how does a company run these stores like this, I just wanted to leave. We visited the Bloomington MN location on Monday where they ran out of the flour to make chicken so they had no chicken tenders and were 10 mins away from having no more chicken period, and this was at 1pm. These locations are some of the worst I have visited and think there are no standards being upheld by Popeyes. I love their chicken but seriously the service is just so sub-standard and poor. These locations need some serious help which starts with the management.

This was my first time going to Popeyes and I was absolutely appalled at my service. I have worked in the food business and at every restaurant I had worked at customer service is extremely important. Obviously, that doesn't matter at the Eden Prairie location.. When we pulled up to order, there was a car in front of us so we had to "hold on" because they can't handle two orders at a time. And when they were ready for us to order it was downhill from there. Should have just backed up and got the heck out of there because they didn't have anything available anyways.. Can I get a Dr. Pepper? "We ain't got that." How about Hi-C? "We out." Sprite? "No." Well what do you have? "Everything else." Lemonade? "No. We out of that too." Like excuse me, it's very clear you do not want to be there or help anybody but hey, you're getting paid to do a job and you're failing miserably. When we pulled up to pick up our food, she only had half the order and we had to remind her what we did order. When we got home our food was soggy, cold, and all wrong.. Didn't get our correct sides, even though it was printed clearly on the receipt. So do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Awful service, and the food was cold and gross. If this didn't make me give a star I wouldn't.

Fries were cold and had a hair in them. The outdoor garbage can was full to bursting, clearly hadn't been emptied in days.

The service at this Popeyes is so bad I walked out without ordering. I was 1st in line and was never greeted or acknowledged during 5 minutes as I watched 3 employees in back of the house and drive thru.

Food is decent for fast take chicken. Good spices. Location specific, the service could use some work. However, there was one employee that was great and she was trying to help everyone else.

Very slow service. Employees made up excuses so they wouldn't have to make certain items. They had no spicy items, no ghost pepper wings ( which is what we came to try), and no blackened chicken. The food is solid just don't go expecting them to have what you want.
